Don’t get lost. Follow FORMA.
A special event co-hosted by It’s Nice That and IKEA to explore the evolution of design in the age of hyper-personalisation and mass production. A panel of speakers, including British designer Tom Dixon, Bethany Koby from Technology Will Save Us, Unmade’s Kirsty Emery and IKEA’s head of design Marcus Engman, will discuss the relationship between branding and customisation in the beautiful spaces of the Protein Studios in Shoreditch.
2-3 May – Retail Design Expo @ Olympia London
Two full days packed with conferences, one-to-one networking opportunities and more than 100 exhibitors covering the whole spectrum of retail design segments, from customers experience, to interiors via behavioural sciences and new technologies. The International VM Awards and the POPAI Awards will be announced during the expo. Look out also for the Students Awards, where the efforts of students from Ravensbourne, Glasgow, Huddersfield, Westminster, Manchester Metropolitan University and London MET will be judged by a panel of creative directors.
After receiving 1,865 submissions from 86 participating countries, the Jury of the LOEWE Craft Prize selected the works of 30 finalists. These will be exhibited at the Design museum between May and June. The winner will be announced on the 2nd of May.
22-24 May – Clerkenwell Design Week
The shocking pink CDW is now an established appointment in the European scene and grows steadily year after year with new events and wide-ranging collaborations with the big names of design and interiors. But the feeling of walking in a neighbourhood festival of creativity is still strong and is preserved by keeping things local and avoiding trespasses outside the core of Clerkenwell. The programme is intense as usual, with open showrooms, fringe events, exhibitions and, ça va sans dire, floods of Prosecco. Do not miss it.
